On July 3, 2025, Andrea McElroy was sworn in as the Area 5 Trustee for the Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) Board of Education.

- Andrea McElroy is a dedicated mother, accomplished businesswoman, and wife to her husband, Thom.
- She has a daughter and two stepsons, all of whom attended NMUSD schools from kindergarten to 12th grade.
- Andrea has been deeply involved in the school community.
- Recognizing her daughter's early passion for singing and dancing, Andrea served as the parent volunteer organizer for school theater productions throughout her daughter's educational years.
