Regional Occupational Program (ROP)
What is ROP?
- ROP stands for Regional Occupational Program
- ROP = CTE (Career Technical Education)
- ROP is a partner with NMUSD to provide career and technical education courses
- Combines classroom instruction with hands-on learning from credentialed experts in their field/industries
- Offers free classes in diverse high-growth industries including health care, manufacturing technologies, or digital media arts, among others
Why Take ROP Classes?
- FREE for High School Students
- Hands on, experiential learning
- Earn grades and credits toward high school graduation
- Enroll in classes that satisfy a-g requirements for UC and CSU
- Gain experience for employment
- Internships (Must be 16 years of age)

- Many ROP courses can receive credit at a local community college (Articulation)
ROP CLASSES ARE FOR ALL STUDENTS
4-year College-Bound:
- Over half of Coastline ROP’s classes meet UC/CSU admission requirements
Community College-Bound:
- ROP classes align with corresponding California College programs. Students can earn advanced placement and/or credit
- Of the 20 fastest growing occupations, 14 require an associate's degree or less.
Seeking Industry Certifications:
- ROP classes prepare students for certification exams
Seeking Job Experience:
- ROP's network of business partners provides work-based learning experiences including internships

Registration Reminders!!
- If you register before your assigned date, your registration will be deleted.
- Incomplete registration will also be deleted
- For Year-Long Classes you can only sign up at the end of the spring or beginning of Fall semesters!
- You can register for open classes up to the second week after classes start!
