The Riverville Scholarship was created to honor two long-time Newport Beach residents, whose commitment to community, passion for education, and encouragement to follow one’s own path was an inspiration to their family. We hope their legacy can be carried on through this scholarship.

Must be a current senior attending Newport Harbor High School with a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0. Degree-seeking applicants will be awarded $3,000 for four years (renewable scholarship) at a community college or 4 year university. Proof of enrollment is required. Marlin Memorial Scholarship Sponsored by the Mariners Elementary School PTA

Due by April 18, 2025

The Mariners Elementary School PTA awards Marlin Memorial Scholarships to graduating seniors who attended Mariners Elementary School for at least one year. The award recipients are chosen based on a combination of academic achievement, community service and an essay about their favorite memory while attending Mariners.

We have renamed our scholarship the Marlin Memorial Scholarship because the Mariners PTA also wishes to remember Marlins who are no longer with us. We honor and remember Alyssa Altobelli, Johnny Von Der Ahe, Julian Dunn, and Reef Kargees. Their legacies live on in past and present Marlins in the form of Mariners PRIDE, academic achievement, a commitment to family and community, and a passion for activities such as basketball (Alyssa), surfing (Johnny), Lego building (Julian) and soccer (Reef).

Mariners PTA Marlin Memorial Scholarship Application 2025

National Charity League, Inc., Newport Chapter will once again award scholarships to deserving senior girls in the Newport Mesa Unified School District.  The application (link below) and supporting documents must be submitted to the NCL Scholarship Committee by midnight on April 20, 2025.

The mission of the NCL Scholarship Committee is to provide financial support for higher education to young women graduates of NMUSD who demonstrate significant financial need, consistent effort in high school, and a strong desire to continue their education.

Scholarship recipients must:

1.   Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
2.   Demonstrate a financial need.
3.   Be a graduating senior girl that has attended high school in the NMUSD for at least two (2) years.
4.   Not be a daughter of a National Charity League member or be a Ticktocker.
5.   Register as a full-time college student (12 units or more) in the fall of 2025.
6.   Be a United States citizen.

The amount awarded varies annually depending on our funds and the number of applicants.  Last year, National Charity League, Inc., Newport Chapter awarded scholarships ranging from $300-$5000.

Newport Harbor High School PTA is an active volunteer organization dedicated to the encouragement of academic success and volunteerism. The PTA raises funds for school programs and scholarships through its annual membership drive, donations and fundraisers such as the Holiday Market. This year, PTA will award a total of $5,000 to graduating seniors. Five $1,000 scholarships given out to graduating seniors.

NHHS PTA SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The Newport Harbor Alumni Association is excited to offer TEN $2,000 scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors planning to attend community colleges, trade schools, or technical programs. Additionally, priority will be given to students pursuing majors in Nursing/Medical Services, Education, First Responder careers, Hospitality, or CTE track programs (Video Production, Culinary Arts, and Business). Applicants must aim to complete an AA Degree, Vocational Certificate, or a 4-Year Degree. A second-year award of $1,000 is available if required criteria are met.

Honoring the legacy and character of Patrick “Patty” Turner, this scholarship will be awarded to graduating senior students in good standing who plan to attend a community college or trade school.   Patrick wished for more kindness and inclusivity in our schools and community, and those traits will be the focus of this application. This scholarship will award recipients a $2,000 one-time award.

The Orange County Youth Sports Foundation (OCYSF) is seeking qualified candidates for its Scholar-Athlete Achievement Awards for the 52nd consecutive year. These $3,500 awards honor college-bound young men and women who will graduate from Orange County high schools in 2025. Approximately fifteen (15) such scholarships are awarded annually and winners will be celebrated at a banquet to be held on Tuesday May 20 in Anaheim.

OCYSF thanks the Autry Foundation for underwriting our Scholarships program in 2025.

Any Newport Harbor High School student graduating in 2025 who graduated from Kaiser Elementary School and will be attending college in the fall is eligible to submit an application. For more information and to access the application, please follow the link below. 

2025 Kaiser Scholarship

$500 will be awarded to one graduating senior and art will be placed on display in our permanent collection on campus at Newport Harbor High. Please complete the application and submit with your artwork to Mrs. Mack at the NHHS Counseling office by May 5, 2025.

NHHS PTA Art Scholarship 2025

The Law Offices of Brent A. Duque dba Duque & Price (“D&P”) are offering up to $5,000 scholarship opportunities to Seniors residing in and attending high schools in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District who will be graduating in Spring 2025 and continuing their educations at universities, colleges, vocational institutes or technical trade schools. Applicants for these scholarships need NOT necessarily demonstrate academic excellence nor athletic prowess; rather, D&P’s selection criteria emphasizes commitment to community service, educational promise, strength of character and challenging personal and/or family circumstances requiring financial assistance. The Naval Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NROTC) Program educates and trains qualified young men and women for service as commissioned officers in the Navy's unrestricted line communities, the Navy Nurse Corps and the Marine Corps. As the largest single source of Navy and Marine Corps officers, the Navy ROTC Scholarship Program plays an important role in preparing mature young men and women for leadership and management positions in an increasingly technical Navy and Marine Corps.

NROTC awards scholarships through a highly competitive national selection process. Selected applicants receive full tuition, books stipend, educational fees and other financial benefits OR Room and Board at the country's leading colleges and universities. Upon graduation, midshipmen are commissioned as officers in the Navy or Marine Corps.

NROTC Scholarships are available to qualified students who graduate from high school before August 1 of the year they intend to start college.
