Advanced Placement (AP)
Advanced Placement Courses
Newport Harbor High School offers a wide range of college-level courses, both Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses. Our IB Diploma Program students usually take several AP classes, and students who chose not to pursue the IB Diploma can choose from our AP and IB classes, all of which are open to all students who meet the pre-requisites.
Why take college-level class in high school? Enrolling in AP and IB classes and passing the exams may assist students in gaining admission to college, earning college credits, and taking more advanced courses sooner. More importantly, taking these rigorous classes prepares students to succeed in college courses.
