Raise.Me - Micro-Scholarships

I know that many of you have concerns about how to make a college education more affordable. Through a new, free program called RaiseMe, students can guarantee scholarships from 250+ colleges as early as 9th grade, making it easier to plan financially for school. RaiseMe has proven to be a great tool to motivate students in high schools throughout the U.S. Newport Harbor HS is among the first in the country to take advantage of this opportunity, which was launched with the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and U.S. colleges. Here are a couple of easy ways to support your students in using this unique tool:

  • Ensure that you create an account at www.raise.me
  • Regularly add good grades, community service, extracurricular activities, and other achievements to your RaiseMe Portfolio to earn micro-scholarships from colleges.

Edison Scholars Program

DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 9, 2022

Edison Scholars was created to recognize the makers of tomorrow - students with big dreams to help power the future. The program awards college scholarships to help fuel your passion for making a difference by studying science, technology, engineering, and math.

Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards

DEADLINE IS JANUARY 5, 2023

The Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards honor Jewish teens who demonstrate remarkable leadership and engagement in projects that embody the values of tikkun olam, "repairing the world". Up to 15 recipients will be awarded $36,000 each to further their project or for their education.

Newport Beach Foundation Scholarship

DEADLINE IS JANUARY 31, 2023

The Newport Beach Foundation is focused on engaging and supporting the next generation of community leaders. This scholarship rewards 2-year or 4-year college-bound students who have shown consistent leadership in different facets of their lives. Additionally, candidates have demonstrated strong work ethic, commitment and character. The Foundation is interested in candidates who are meaningfully involved in their community and show respect and kindness to others.

This scholarship will award the deserving recipient with $2,500.00 towards their future goals. Additionally, the recipient(s) will receive a coveted spot in the Spring 2023 Distinguished Citizen Program. This program gives participants exclusive behind the scenes access to both civic and business leaders of Newport Beach. Graduating from the Distinguished Citizen Program is an honor recognized within the City of Newport Beach as well as personally by the sitting Mayor. Receipt of the monetary award is conditioned on completion of the Distinguished Citizen Program.

Exchange Club of Newport Beach Scholarship

DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 24, 2023

The Exchange Club of Newport Beach is excited to offer two $3,000 scholarship awards to one male and one female senior from Newport Harbor High School.

Italian Catholic Federation Scholasrhip

DEADLINE IS APRIL 1, 2023

Since 1964, the Italian Catholic Federation has awarded over $2,000,000.00 in scholarships to more than 6,000 high school students, of the Catholic faith, attending college. To apply, students must achieve a total cumulative GPA (3½ years) of at least 3.2 and meet one of the following:

  1. Are Roman Catholic and of Italian Descent and live within the Roman Catholic Dioceses of Arizona, California, Illinois and Nevada, only where Branches of the Federation are established; or,
  2. Are Roman Catholic but need not be of Italian Descent or live where Branches of the Federation are established if either Roman Catholic parent, guardian or grandparent is a member of the “Italian Catholic Federation.”

Kenny Melton Scholarship

DEADLINE IS APRIL 28, 2023

The Kenny Melton Scholarship Foundation is proud to offer this scholarship to provide educational assistance for future leaders in public service (including, but not limited to, education, special education/disability services, medical field, etc.). Public service agencies such as our school systems and medical professions are always in need of highly qualified and compassionate personnel. These systems are not what they are without the dedication and innate desire of one person wanting to help others. These public services help make our communities stronger and build unity.
Our foundation is offering a minimum of (1) scholarship to a graduating senior for $2,000.
