I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Ms. Roman, the career specialist substitute at Newport Harbor High School for the time being. I would like to share some important ROP information with you all:


What is ROP?

ROP is part of the State public education system that provides career technical job training for high school students (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, & seniors). Coastline Regional Occupational Program (ROP) provides students with the opportunity to acquire career training and technical skills that prepare them for success in a changing workplace and continuing education.

* ROP courses are FREE and 5-10 high school credits*

We are happy to announce Fall 2021 ROP courses are here! For a full list of ROP courses, please see the attached document for more details. If you have questions or want to sign up for ROP courses, you can do it via in person, email, or phone call.


Interested in the field of Construction?

Here is a great opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in construction. Coastline ROP presents Construction 101: Building Your Future (Construction Leadership Series kickoff). Interested in learning about careers in construction, leadership skills, or construction pre-apprenticeship program, please see the attached document for details. This is an exciting opportunity to make connections to build your future in construction!


NHHS Parents’ Night Out:

Vital Link is having a Parents’ Night Out: CTE and Your School Live Panel Session via ZOOM link. Learn about how CTE pathways can help your student on their way to explore, discover, and connect to the future. Please see the attached document for more details.
