Come join us for the Newport Harbor Players’ fall mainstage production of Arsenic and Old Lace at the Wentz Theater, Fridays and Saturdays, December 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th at 7pm, and Sundays, December 3rd and 10th at 2pm.

Whether Arsenic and Old Lace is viewed as comedic-horror, farcical with macabre overtones, or a dark vaudevillian play; playwright, Joseph Kesselring did a wonderful job of entertaining theatergoers with a play that took the audiences’ minds off the after-effects of the post-Depression Era and the inherent troubles and struggles of their present---WWII.

Tickets are $5 for students under 21 and $15 for adults 22 and older, and are available at both NHHSDrama.com and the ASB office. For more information, feel free to contact Mr. D’Aquino at jdaquino@nmusd.us.

Tickets available at ASB window or www.nhhsdrama.com

Stages Reading

NHHS's first Bi-lingual and Spanish Staged Reading.

November 2nd and 3rd

In the Black Box Theater

Jose Santiago (class of 17) is doing a wonderful job directing a very dedicated group of students --- NONE of which have performed on a stage in a play before! Come out and support their efforts. The evening should run no more than an hour, and while you're there you'll get to take in Day of the Dead artwork created by various levels of our very own art students!

On Thursday, September 28 from 5:30pm to 7pm, please join us for the NHHS Back-to-School Celebration!  This year’s event will be located on the home side of the newly-renovated Davidson Field, and is scheduled just prior to the football game against Cathedral High School.

(The gates will open at 5:30pm for this event; anyone who arrives at or after 6:30pm will need to purchase a ticket to the game for entry.)

The walkways, pathways, and courtyards of the home side of the stadium will be lined with tables that showcase our academic departments, where you’ll be able to meet your students’ teachers and hear more about their classes; discover more about our career and technical education pathways, where your students’ interests may be; and investigate other programs and clubs that your students either do or can take advantage of.

Newport Harbor High School has a lot to offer its students, and this showcase will be a valuable experience in discovering the many programs and activities we offer the student body.  Whether your student is a seasoned veteran of the campus or a brand new freshman, there’s a lot to discover and explore.

We know that some people were expecting the bell-driven, classroom-to-classroom approach to Back-to-School Night; but due to scheduling conflicts and low attendance at previous years’ events, we are trying something different this year.  We hope this will give you and your families the opportunity to not only meet the teachers but to also learn more about the school’s programs, clubs, and opportunities.

And then, of course, stay for the football game!

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, September 28 at Davidson Field starting at 5:30pm!  Come join the celebration!
